"Club HistoryThe Mandurah Pirates formed in 1994 and toured to the Country - Carnival in Collie with 12 players.The Club was formally founded in 1995 and once again the Pirates entered the Country Carnival held in Esperance. The first home game was played at Coote Reserve in this year against Midland and was won by the Mandurah Pirates.1997 saw the Pirates accepted into the West Australian Rugby Union competition playing second grade under the umbrella of Bunbury.The Pirates remained undefeated all season and won the second grade minor and major premierships, a remarkable effort in their first year of competition.1998 saw the club field 1st and 2nd grade teams in the District competition with the 1st grade team again winning their minor and major premierships. State awards for highest try scorer to Doug Ellis, and competition Fairest and Best to Blair Strong capped off a very successful year for the club.
